Although the author presented a video that doesn’t itself induce interaction, the author suggested many valuable strategies on how teachers could use this video to create an interactive experience for students. I enjoyed reading about these strategies such as teachers pausing the video to ask thought-provoking questions or following up the video with a student discussion activity.
I enjoyed the video the author chose as it differs from the typical educational video however it’s simplicity, repetitively and fun presentation would definitely be useful for younger age groups to use to memorize perimeter! Reading this post I also learned about a Nearpod which seems like a great tool to create more engaging and interactive presentations rather than the typical Powerpoints. Overall the author’s suggested lesson of the video accompanied by the suggested activities allowed for many opportunities for interaction.
